Dungonnell Reservoir

This long and narrow reservoir lies in a wind-swept moorland on the upper reaches of the Clough River. The shores near the dam are rocky and very good for shore fishing. On the south side the shore is firm for most of the distance, but the west shore ismore marshy as you go eastward and care should be taken. The peninsula on the north side just above the dam gives a pleasant variation with a sheltered bay in the lee side. The reservoir contains native brown trout from the inlet spawning streams that grow to 2.5kg. There are good caddis hatches in early summer evenings...

Killylane Reservoir

This reservoir is situated on open moorland but the planting of conifers around the lake provides good shelter. The banks are open and there are no access problems at normal water levels, but care must be taken when areas of mud are exposed under low water conditions. Killyland contains a beautiful stock of wild brown trout which is supplemented by regular stockings of up to 5000 takeable brown trout. This maintains good fishing throughout the season...

Lisburn Sports Centre - (028) 9267 7975 - Anglers must use the official entrances and on no account trespass on the adjoining lands. Unless a special reason exists, cars should be parked only in the car-parks so that the adjacent roads are not obstructed. Wading is permitted but care should betaken as it may be dangerous when the water is at certain levels. Stoneyford is one of the most popular Department fisheries, and is stocked regularly with up to 10000 takeable fish and 5000 fingerlings. A low lying reservoir, feeding can be prolific with caddis fly. In early season fly fishing with lures and streamers is popular.

Woodburn Reservoirs

Wading is permitted but care should be taken as this can be dangerous when the water is at certain levels. Anglers must use the official entrances and on no account trespass on adjoining lands or park their cars in such a way as to obstruct roadways or gate entrances. These are very popular lakes and are stocked regularly with up to 30000 takeable sized fish. The stock in Lough Mourne is supplemented with up to 10000 brown trout fingerlings.
