Two very large angling clubs, Birmingham Anglers Association and Telford Angling Association, between them, control dozens of lakes and ponds and a great many stretches of rivers large and small. In addition there are lots of private fisheries offering day ticket coarse and game angling as well as syndicated waters for the dedicated specimen hunter. All are set in the pretty countryside still rich in wildlife owing to the mixed farming from fruit and dairy through to horticulture and arable.
Every type of fishing, apart from sea angling is catered for with lots of matches organised by the larger clubs and a great deal of pleasure angling venues. Here and there are fisheries catering for the hoilidaying angler too with both caravan parks and B&Bs with their own fisheries.
